Photography exhibition at the Gniezno MOK “Woman, Naturally”

On January 11, 2025, something happened that I had been thinking about for a long time – I opened my own photography exhibition in Gniezno titled “Woman, Naturally”. The exhibition was presented in the space of the Municipal Cultural Centre in Gniezno and brought together people close to art, emotion and the natural image of women.

For many years, women’s photography has been something more to me than a beautiful image on a wall. I see it as a conversation – about who we are, how we feel and how we want to be seen. The exhibition at MOK Gniezno was both a summary of this path and the beginning of a new stage.

Photography exhibition in Gniezno – about the idea of “Wadera”

The project I presented at the exhibition is called “Wadera”. It refers to the symbol of the she-wolf – wild, alert and rooted in nature. For me, it is a metaphor for the contemporary woman: independent, sensitive, present in her body and in the world. I wanted to capture moments in which the women in front of the camera feel that they do not have to pretend anything – they can simply be.

– Each photograph is an attempt to show that inner strength and naturalness. It is not only aesthetics – it is a record of an authentic meeting, energy and emotion – I said in one of the interviews.

A return to photography from the heart

For years, I worked mainly in commercial photography – weddings, products and fashion. I enjoyed that work, but deep inside I kept feeling a longing for the kind of photography that was there at the very beginning: personal, attentive and close to people. “Wadera” is exactly that kind of return to the source – to photography as a meeting, not an assignment; to work based on trust, attentiveness and mutual respect.

– Photography, for me, is a dance of light and emotion. A session begins with conversation, breath and silence – and then everything happens naturally – I told journalists.

Woman, Naturally – truthful frames

The exhibition in Gniezno consisted of portraits of women of different ages and with different stories. You see them in domestic spaces, in nature, in movement and in silence. One thing connects them: they are real.

I was not looking for perfection, and I did not build artificial poses. What mattered to me was showing a gesture, a breath, a look – what happens between the frames. Instead of fashion styling, there is simplicity. Instead of stiffness – presence and emotion.

Below you will find a material prepared by TV Gniezno. In this short report, you can see the exhibition space, fragments of the photographs and hear me talk about where the “Woman, Naturally” project came from and what women’s photography in Gniezno means to me.

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who came to the opening, returned during the following days of the exhibition, wrote messages and shared their stories with me. Thank you to the people who supported me throughout the process of creating this project – from the first sessions to the moment the photographs appeared on the walls of MOK. I am glad that women’s photography in Gniezno can resonate in this context and that I can add my own voice to it.
